"Dutch" Country Corn Muffins

Old family recipe. Wake up the family with great warm muffins with fresh whipped butter! You will think you are in a bed and breakfast inn! 20-25 minutes 12 Ingredients 1/2 cup daily sour cream 1/2 cup whole milk 1/2 cup butter 1 stick room temperature 1/2 cup sugar or Splenda for baking 1 egg 1 cup yellow corn meal 1 cup presifted flour 1/4 teaspoon salt 1 level teaspoon cream of tarter 1 teaspoon baking soda Directions Cream butter and sugar. Add egg and beat till creamy. Add baking soda to milk and set aside. Mix sour cream into mixture. Add milk/baking soda to mix. Add salt and cream of tarter to flour. Gradually add corn meal, then flour mix to mixture. Spray 12 cup muffin pan with baking spray. Fill each cup half full. Bake 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes. Immediately remove from pan. Best served warm. If you wish, you can bake in a loaf pan and bake about 30-35 minutes at 350 degrees. You can also use decorative shaped muffin pans. Store in tightly sealed container. Reheat any leftovers if there are any for about 20 second in microwave on high.
