NOTE:
PFOA is a chemical that is used in the manufacturing of traditional
PTFE-based nonstick cookware coatings and other products. It is not present in
finished cookware products, and there are no health risks from PFOA in cookware.
However, because PFOA has been found in the environment, companies have
committed to the Environmental Protection Agency to work toward eliminating
facility emissions and product content of PFOA by the year 2015.
Thermolon is made without PFOA now. It is made to be eco-friendly for our
environment.
PTFE is a chemical found in traditional nonstick coatings. It can begin to
degrade at temperatures over 500 degrees, which is why the instructions on
traditional nonstick pans generally advise to use them only on low and medium
heat. You can use Thermolon on low and medium heat like traditional
nonstick, but unlike traditional nonstick coated pans, GreenPan with Thermolon
is also made to be used at high heat (above 500 degrees) for something you would
normally use stainless steel or cast iron cookware for. Now you can do it
all with one pan!

Poor, poor quality / Rene, MA7/10/2008 The first few times I used this pan it was absolutely great. Then it started to stick, getting worse each time I used it. Now I cannot use it at all. The only things I used it for were eggs and pancakes. I cannot even get the brown marks off the pan. I think Joy and Todd English need to rethink this product. It certainly does not hold up the way they claim.
It sticks / T, CA7/9/2008 I use this pan strickly for eggs. I make only items with eggs like omelets, and scramblea nd fried eggs only after about 3 dozen eggs theystarted tostick. Today my omelet got ruined because of the sticking. I even added extra oil. I like the old fashioned pan with teflon instead. I will go back to it. Sorry. I had hopes.
Worked okay for a few months, but..... / Elena, CA7/9/2008 Eggs stick really bad now. Worked great the first 6 months. I am not sure what happened. I''ve tried corn oil, margerine, but nothing seems to stop the sticking. Pulled out my old non-stick from the back of the cupboard and threw this one back there instead.
Talk the talk but don''t walk the walk / , UT7/7/2008 I, too, have been diappointed with the perfomance of these pans. They both worked great for the first couple of times and now they stick! The black marks do not come off unless you scrub them for a long time! Great idea, but a waste of money. I have no use for them now.
Dissapointed / , OR7/3/2008 I bought these because I like to cook egg whites - after cooking there isn''t anything to eat because it is all stuck to the pan. Why did I see these advertized at Macy''s? After I found these weren''t ideal pans as shown, I paid more attention to the demonstrations and I have even seen on air the sticking - but then the camera moves away. Also these Greenpans don''t even have flat bottoms. I think the idea is great and if definate improvements are made I may consider to try again.
