’Nikuman’ is a Japanese food made from flour dough, and filled with ground pork. My Mom used to make this for Saturday lunch, so on Saturday Saturday was half day school in Japan me and my sister usually run home as fast as we can for this deliciouse Nikuman. 15 minutes 6 servings Ingredients 1 3/4 cups flour 1 tablespoon baking powder 1 tablespoon sugar 3/4 cup lukewarm water 1/2 pound ground pork 6 green onion, chopped 4 dried shitake, soak in a water until soften and chopped 2 tablespoons sake 2 tablespoons soy souce 2 teaspoon sesame oil 1/8 teaspoon pepper Directions In the large bowl, shift in flour, baking powder and sugar. Pour in water and knead until smooth. Mix all the filling ingredients in a bowl. Divide dough into 12, roll each into a ball and flatten into a circle with your fingers. Divide filling into 12, and fill in the center of the each dough and bring the dough up around it. Pinch the dough firmly to join it. Put each bun on a separate piece of parchment or wax paper. Steam over medium setting for 15 minutes.
