Ingredients
2/4c flour, 1tsp baking soda, 1 tsp salt, 1/2c shortning, 1 cold stick butter, 3/4c brown sugar, 3/4c white sugar, 11/2tsp maple extract, 2 eggs, 1 bag choc chips, 1c walnuts chopped

Directions
1.In large bowl, cream shorting and butter. 2.Add white and brown sugar. Add eggs and maple extract. 3.In large bowl shift flour, add salt and baking soda. 4.Add to other mixture 1 cup at a time. 5.Blend well, Add chocolate chips and nuts if desired. 6.using tablespoon or ice cream shoop place on ungreased baking sheet about 2 inches apart. 7. Bake at 375 for 9-11 mins. 8.Let cool 2-3 mins before removing from pan.
