Sent unit back. We tried to make ice cream, with real cream, 3 times and each time the unit stopped because of overheating at about 20min and the result was slush each time. Unit would not start again until 20 min delay. Very dissappoinated. Can't imagine the unit working well with yogurt, fruit, or chips, since it failed with just cream. Unit does not have enough power.

I have made a few batches of ice cream and a sorbet. So far, it works just as suggested. I have decided the ice cream is better if I put it back in the freezer and we eat it the next night. The sorbet was perfect. The recipes in the Rival manual aren't the best, but the internet helps a lot. It is very noisy. I think that is the only reason I didn't give it five stars.

1st batch made from store mix-just ok.2nd batch from recipe that came with maker-really good.I love how easy it is and convenience of use.Bummed there were only a few recipes with maker-will have to buy a book or look up online.Little worried that paddle parts may have to replaced soon due to the fact that I will be using alot.Wish it made larger batches.That said, I love this and tv competitor with s/h has for about $60--so great price.My tummy thanks HSN but my hips probably not so much.
